i went to the garden this morning after feeding the dogs
and stood there for a long time looking at a fish in the pond
i opened the faucet to the irrigation system and let it run
i pulled out some weeds and laid them on the ground
i checked the green beans and cucumbers, there was nothing ready
i checked the zucchini and cut off a couple of ripe flowers
i cut a lettuce down low and threw the root over the fence
i left the garden and skimmed some algae out of the pond
i walked back up to the house and did something else for a while
half an hour later i realized that i forgot to turn the water off
i ran down to shut it off and returned to the house breathing hard
